About Us – Rostislav Toporski
he/him/his
Born in the Ukraine, Ros began a journey of dance that would ultimately bring him to Urban Acupuncture Center as a structural integration therapist. Albeit a circuitous path, 6 year old Ros joined a Ukrainian folk dance ensemble and loved it! When Ros was 10, his family relocated to Israel where he expanded his passion to include ballroom dance. By the time he turned 16, he had fully immersed himself in the competitive world of ballroom dance, was living in Philadelphia, and dancing in competitions across the US and Canada.
As Ros refined his skills and competed at a professional level, he realized that dance training on its own was not sufficient to sustain his body. His curiosity led him to explore the study of biomechanics, Anatomy Trains Structural Integration, and the innovative methods of Erik Franklin. This investigation deepened his understanding of the human body and how it moves through space. Over the years, Ros became a dedicated student of structural integration and the Franklin Method, integrating these techniques into his own daily practice. His commitment to a holistic understanding of movement and body mechanics reflects a deep respect he has for the natural functionality of the body.
Ros believes there is an intricate connection between body movement and overall well-being. His rich background in dance, combined with his advanced techniques in structural integration and knowledgeable grasp of biomechanics allow him a comprehensive perspective on how movement impacts health. Once he found himself in Clintonville, it was only a matter of time before his exuberant energy and drive to help others landed him at Urban Acupuncture Center! When he’s not working, he enjoys traveling and cooking with his son and wife, and of course….dancing.
