ARTIST STATEMENT<\/h3>\n
The photographs in the exhibition are weeds and faded flowers photographed on a light box.\u00a0 Why focus on weeds and faded flowers – plant forms we mostly ignore and discard?\u00a0 Because once we truly “see” them we discover\u00a0the beauty of shape, line, pattern,\u00a0movement.\u00a0 The photographs focus\u00a0attention on these visual elements and\u00a0gives voice\u00a0 to the unique forms\u00a0and structures of\u00a0 these often\u00a0overlooked subjects, and hint at the forces\u00a0which shaped them.<\/div>\n

ABOUT THE ARTIST<\/h3>\n
I taught photography in the Art\u00a0Department at Otterbein University for\u00a0thirty years retiring in December,\u00a02009.\u00a0 I have a Bachelor of Arts from\u00a0Otterbein, A Master of Divinity from\u00a0United Theological Seminary, and a\u00a0Master of Fine Arts from Rochester\u00a0Institute of Technology.<\/div>\n
